Photosynth for the masses – Update: the masses like it
August 21, 2008
Get your cams and camphones out and shoot, shoot, shoot. Tons of pictures and then synth’em for a 3D version. Microsoft released Photosynth to the public yesterday. After all the fuzz it created at TED and other events I’m keen to see how a broader user base accepts and usese this really cool tool. Here’s the Story and here’s the tool itself.
Update 22/08/08: As techcrunch reports the site went down, down, down. Looks like users like it.

Will there be a compensation for providing some shots? Say, cheaper Office 2007 for 12 pictures of Venice ?

Oh dear, what a nice idea. But I fear this is not part of the revenue model of either Office nor Photosynth. Frankly of none of their products.
