Software plus Service

Imagine you sell horses and you do quite well with that. Suddenly, these…cars…come up. What you gonna do? Right: You sell it like “buy 10 horses, get some cars for free”. This is what Microsoft tries to do with Software plus Services. Good luck for the future, guys.

    Hmmm… I think Software as Services or SaaS is more like, “OK, now I’m going to offer horse riding lessons: you can pay to “subscribe” to the horses for an hour for $X but you don’t own them”. Each time you want to ride the horse you get to pay $X again. But you still own them…

    Exactly, you just pay per use. No administration. No oversized licence. SALP-models like Microsoft starts it now.
