No lala in Europe

Lala sounds great in theory. Just listen to music you search and pay for downloaded mp.3s only. Naiiiis. But there is a disclaimer as soon as you start. “Sorry US only”. Thank you to remind me that I am living in a European jungle and there are still folks out there who believe that Americas is the only internet market.

Play the bass, man

Well, to reduce Social Networks towards their purpose: SexJobFame. That is OK. But in order to really connect to folks that are heading towards the same topics and projects you can use the engine and build specific pages. How about this page for musicians? It shows those folks who could play Folk together and adds a new Gangsta to your Rap. And if they decide to have sex after making music. Well, that is OK.

Social Fluting

Play Ocarina on an iPhone. Play or listen. More than 3 million melodies. What would Pan have said? http://ocarina.smule.com/forum/. Thanks, Mike.

iNoise

You do AC / you will DC

Poor ol` AC/DC. Although never planned to sell their new album online,… well: they surely will not have to. 400.000 Whole Lotta Rosies downloaded a leaked copy through BitTorrent. Black Ice will be heard. Everybody still loves Angus…for free.

I like clouds

Some time ago, i tried to use WordPress for creating and mixing sounds, collaborating with other musicians.

It didn’t really work – maybe it was to sunny ? Soundcloud would possibly make it go different.

New Interface – new rules – pure fun

I used iDrum for over some years now to create beats for my songs.
Recently the Guys from iZotope released the iPhone / iPod-Touch Version of this Application.

And i have to admit, that i no longer want to use my Desktop-Version.
The usability of the iPhone-App is so smooth and so elegant – it is 100% more fun to make some beats than it used to be.

All together now: hulu

Steve Jobs proudly announced Apple being the largest competitor in music download business last week. And he confirmed NBC being back in iTunes, where the business is. It may vanish a little bit as soon as MySpace has arrived with its new media download service. One partner will be…tatatata…NBC.

I still cannot believe how MTV lost its pool position in the 90ies to grab the whole business and connect it with its branding. Too much Cocaine and too many parties dumbs your brain. At least, it would have been more abvious than a computer company taking over the business.

Adding: Napster , who could have won the game es well, has been taken over by Best Buy for 127.000.000 USD. That is slightly more than US-instment banks loose in shares value in an average minute these days.
